THREE FOR KEEPS - INTERVIEW WITH LILA MUNRO

"Zoey Matthews is in love. She’s been in love since the day she was dropped off by a social worker at yet another foster home on a back country road miles from nowhere, Missouri. At age ten, she met the men of her dreams. Over the course of sixteen years, Dane Cardwell, Jack Devereux and Ryan Wilkins fell in love with her, too. They’ve each told her they love her, they’ve shown her and each man has gone so far as to ask her to marry him. But what they don’t know is Zoey loves them all.

Her game of kiss and not tell all comes crashing down around her the night of her graduation from veterinary school and Zoey runs for the mountains. Of Colorado. Hoping to outrun her obsession with three men and forget them all together, she stays gone for ten years. But the wound has never healed. In fact, it's done nothing but fester. Needing to clear the air, Zoey agrees to spend a few days back home with the boys never imagining it would turn into a week filled with comparison sex as Dane, Jack and Ryan each try to get Zoey to choose between them and their varied tastes.

When she finally tells the truth, a truth only one of them has known all along, Zoey fears the foursome will never be able to make a sharing relationship work. After all, aren't there just too many personalities and desires to sort through? Add in the kink factor and things get really complicated. Zoey’s not convinced the truth has any merit, but there's one thing she knows for sure…this time she's playing for keeps."

Niina : Welcome to For The Love of Reading! Lila, glad you could stop by!

Lila Munro : Hi Niina! Thanks so much for having me by today…nice digs! Who’s your designer?

Niina : Thanks! Designed it all by my lonesome. ;)  So Lila tell us five unknown facts about yourself, so we can get to know you a little!

Lila : My life is pretty much an open book, but I’ll try…let’s see…I played clarinet in marching band in high school, my favorite whiskey is Crown Royal—although mixed with a bit of schnapps and cranberry is best, I’m near sighted and wear reading glasses ‘cause I’m in “that” age group, I know how to crochet thanks to my Nana, and I still like to color with Crayola crayons.

Niina : ( let’s keep this between us, but so do I ;) ) Your book Three for Keeps is out now, how would you describe the book?

Lila : In a word - character driven.

Niina : Now this is not just a love triangle, it’s a square!  So, what is sexy about having multiple men wanting to catch the heroine’s heart?

Lila : The sexiest part is these men have known Zoey since she was ten years old and they’ve loved her for years. They’ve never openly fought over her, but the feelings have been there a long, long time. The square quickly becomes a circle of love.

Niina : What chapter did you most enjoyed writing and why?

Lila : Oh dear, that’s like asking which of my children is my favorite. I don’t so much focus on any given chapter so much as the entire story. I used to worry myself to death about word count, word count…I figured out a secret, the story knows where it ends, let it decide. It’s sort of a seeing the forest past the trees theory.

Niina : Smart! Which character, from the men in your book, became your favorite?

Lila : Ryan. I quickly fell in love with his gentle spirit.

Niina : What about your lead character Zoey makes you go, “oh don’t do that!”?

Lila : She in essence tells a lie…

Niina : What about who is currently your book boyfriend?

Lila : Steph Sachelles from my book True Identity, but who also makes an appearance in the Force Recon series I wrote with some very good friends.

Niina : If you could only read 5 Romance/ Erotica books for the rest of your life what would they be, and why?

Lila :  How about I pick 5 writers and you surprise me with which one book I get from each of them…I love surprise—top 5 romance/ erotica auto-buys are: Tymber Dalton, KA Mitchell, RJ Scott, Kitty Thomas, and Loralei James. Why? Because they have honed their craft. Tymber Dalton knows her BDSM as does Kitty Thomas who writes the dark side of Master/slave relationships like no one’s business. Loralei knows her cowboys and KA and RJ? M/m anyone?

Niina : I’m game! From Dalton, Trouble Comes in Threes – From Mitchell, Not Knowing Jack – From Scott, Texas Winter – From Thomas, The Auction -  From James, Cowgirl Up and Ride.  That was fun! Now, what's the best part about being an author? And what’s the worst?

Lila : I’m one of the lucky few that actually stays at home and does this all day long…the fact that I can do so is the best part…worst part? Commas! Hate that punctuation…

Niina : LOL! Don’t we all. ;) Now before we finish here are some Quick Fire Question:
