The Future In Your Dreams

I would say that more than a fair few people think that foretelling the future is a load of rubbish. Of course I would love nothing more than to sit down and discuss it in depth with them, I love to have the odd philosophical debate. But I have to say that I too, once thought that foretelling the future was just nonsense.
Let me tell you a quick story about my own experiences that resulted in me changing how I viewed the future. When I was eight years old I was going through a pretty rough time. One outcome was that I began to have re-occurring dreams about a bridge and something floating in the water of a canal. I remember being haunted by these dreams for a long time until they eventually faded away, maybe returning only once a year or so.
Then in my mid-twenties I had a massive turn of events in my life, an end to a marriage, severe depression and an end to attending church. I even ran away to a foreign country and slept on the sofa at a friend’s house; it was a desperate situation, but three days later, one of my friends went missing and I joined the search party.
There I was, in the passenger seat of the car and for some unknown reason the memory of that dream came flooding back into my mind. I asked the driver to stop and I got out, and I walked to a nearby canal, which was shockingly similar to my dream, and there I found my friend, not drowned in the water, but at the waters edge planning to jump.
Indeed many people dismiss dreams all too easily I think, today psychology has taken over to make explanations that has led many people to believe that dreams belong only to the subconscious part of our mind, a wrong assumption in my mind. Dreams have often been called visions in the past, viewed as something that foretold the future, and visions form part of the history of most religions around the world. So next time that you find yourself having a dream, maybe you should write it down, maybe even buy a dream interpretation book, as that very dream may be telling you something about your future.
Niina : I personally do believe in foretelling the future... in fact I tell the future all the time with my tarot cards, it is though, that the future we are going to have changes with every action we take, if we stay inactive our future will be what was once told - but if we take action we begin on our journey to a new future. I love the future, it's intriquining, but I love the Present even more... and I try to make sure it's always a Great one!
Cesar has a very experienced background in the spiritual world. He was brought up in a Christian family, but branched out from that base as he got older, seeking answers about the world around him, and the spiritual world around him.
In his mid-twenties dramatic events occurred in his life which challenged his very existence, but he learned from these experienced and most of learned that how that life is not just in our own hands. Now Cesar is a firm believer that everyone has their own path to walk in life, and part of that walk is all about the choices that you make. Some people choose a good life and some a wicked life, but most of us live the life in the middle, influenced by the world around us and our own upbringing, Cesar understands that life is simply not black and white.

Living through a Writer’s Eyes

Ever wonder what the world looks like through the eyes of a writer? I can guarantee you one thing the world looks much, much different for a writer. At least from this writer’s eyes it does. How do I know this? Let’s just say I’ve shopped with my normal friends and I’ve shopped with my writers friends…trust me we see things differently.
How many writers out there walk around with a notepad or recorder in their pocket or purse? In the car? Normal people? So, that was about a hundred to zero. The first clue that the writers in the crowd see things in a completely different light than the normal folk. You see, through a writer’s eyes, every single person we come in contact with is a potential character waiting to introduce themselves. Every situation is a potential scene. Cool looking cars, tasty food, off the hook clothing, tattoos, piercings, hair styles—they all have the potential to end up in a book. I seriously doubt normal people notice as much about people, places and things as a writer does. For me the world is a buffet of story ideas.
Now take that idea and apply it to not only a writer, but say a writer who writes erotic romance—or take it a step even further—to BDSM and/or ménage. How much different do you suppose the world looks to those writers even compared to “normal” writers? So different a normal person would burst into flames if they spent a few minutes in my mind.My life as a writer didn’t start off in that world. My life as a writer started out as a regular, every day, run of the mill, erotic romance writer. I had the solid story lines, the believable characters and the hot sex to top it all off. However, my characters led a pretty vanilla life. Then one day, a new muse set her little foot up on my doorstep and a new era in my writing life began. Research ensued—lots of it in fact. And a strange thing happened. As differently as I viewed the world before, that difference may have increased by ten-fold. For instance, a simple trip to the fabric store one day turned into a BDSM researchers dream. How many normal people do you suppose go along feeling the fabric and knot testing it to make sure their heroine won’t lose circulation in her cute little toes if her hero ties her up with it? How many people might look at rings to hang curtains with and their thoughts wander toward inexpensive and quite cute nipple clamps? How many uses are there for a tracing wheel, hem clips or a ruler? Now you’re getting a view from a naughty writer’s point of view.
Now, let’s leave the fabric store and wander over to, say, a kitchen accessory store….What can we find here that might lend itself to creative license? Hard rubber spatulas…paddle material. Olive oil…nifty lubricant. Cute little popsicle molds…ice play with class. Feather dusters, candles, industrial rolls of saran wrap, and the list goes on. Oh, let’s not forget suction cups...need I say more? Wonder what’s over at the hardware store…
Of course this store lends itself to a bondage lover’s dream come true. Eye bolts, chains, outdoor plant hooks to be disguised as a place to hang someone’s arms over their head. Fence posts to create a nifty outdoor place to spread eagle someone for a little flogging. And rope of all sorts, some of which is even neat colors—of course you need to keep in mind research is necessary to know what gauges are best and which one’s won’t leave burn marks. Oh and look over in the gardening section at all the cool cane poles that normal folk associate with staking up their tomatoes. Guess what else they’re good for. Yes, a good wallop to someone’s tender back side. And speaking of tender backsides, just what do you suppose a good leather and horse supply store mind give me in terms of ideas. Crops, and reigns, and chaps—oh my!
See how much differently the world looks through the eyes of someone like me? If I can find all that in normal stores what do you suppose happens when I go to a reputable naughty store…

“I need…I…Don’t make me…”
“Say it.”
“I need to come,” she whined.
“Good girl,” he praised. “Now tell me what you want.”
“I don’t understand…”
“Yes, you do. Tell me,” he growled.
“I want you to make me come,” she gushed, arching her back into his constant touch.
“I’m going to do just that, angel,” he spoke harshly, leaning back over her and taking a handful of hair, raising her head enough he could nip her earlobe. “Tell me you understand.”
“I understand.”
“When’s the last time you had an orgasm?” She started to answer and he cut her off. “With a man?”
“I can’t remember.”
“Shame on them,” Mason told her.
He stood and while keeping one hand on her lower back letting her know he was still present, he unbuttoned his jeans then unzipped them slowly, adding to her agony by being forced to listen to the click of each tine popping open. Scooting his pants down his legs along with his boxers, he stepped out of them and when his hand left her so he could sheath himself, Julie grunted in frustration.
“Get on your back on the bed,” he said as he finished rolling the condom down. She needed the visual contact even if she couldn’t see anything but shadows and reflections.
She hesitated, looked behind her as if trying to determine if he was baiting her or not, then turned and backed across the mattress before lying down with her legs spread and her arms at her sides, her eyes tightly squeezed shut. So clinical, as if she expected to be used as a vessel. Who the hell had she been with before and what the hell had they done to her to make her think sex was about lying like a dead fish while the man got what he wanted? Then he remembered what she’d been like at the party, after he’d caught her in the chase.
She was carefree and happy, not at all a dead fish beneath him. As he’d lain on her in the garden, she was vital and eager. Mason believed she’d have done anything he asked of her she was so pliable…She’d been Hayden. Not Julie. She’d not just been dressed for the party. She was literally hiding behind her masque.
A bit of anger and sorrow wound around Mason’s state of arousal and squeezed him as he realized she had to assume an identity to feel. Then he was almost ashamed at the bit of happiness that crept in at the realization that she was not only fresh and new to his world but actually, she was like putty in his hands. She was ready to be molded into the person she was perfectly capable of being. He could be the one to show Julie how good it really could be, not just physically, but emotionally as well. For tonight though, she needed a safe haven, a place where she could turn her fears into dancing.

If you read my review on the 4th book earlier you know I gushed about these covers, love them! They set the mood for the book perfectly, it's bit dark and has the romance without the buff guy shot ( not that I don't love those as well! ;D ). I really do enjoy Lario's writing, its right up there with the best of them. It's fun, witty, hot and had the right amount of darkness, sadness and tension. And I love a book with tension to keep the chemistry just right! Mark Of The Sylph was great tale of romance, demons, tension and inevitable danger to bring the couple together and sealing the deal.
Maya and Taeg made the best couple, with the fighting and the banter and the scorching hot sex! I loved their chemistry ( and the kidnapping and the tied to the bed bit! ;) ), Taeg felt instant attraction, Maya felt instant hate, and watching much strong Taeg toy with Maya who could hold her own was the best form of couple foreplay! Also this is the first I got to know of the half-demon brothers and boy do they have things going for them, I love guys who act arrogant and snarky and yet completely fall for the girl and give her the whole world and the soft heart they had secretly nurtured the whole time just for her. Can't wait to read more of these books!
The only reason why I didn't give this book the full five stars was because while it was amazing it was slightly slow at parts that made me want to skip a little to get to where Maya and Taeg were the main focus, I could have lived without the enemy's chapters.
You'll love this if... you like your heroines strong in give a run for your money kind of way, and your heroes tough, strong in the will kick your ass six ways till Sunday kind of way - and love seeing them battle out while falling in love, when that's the last thing they should be doing.

This is the second novel in the Dry Creek series, I hadn't read the first novel but didn't feel like I was missing something. The plot was interesting, a great mix of danger, suspense and sexual tension. I seem to really like these 'happens in a small town' type books, it somehow makes everything connect to have something happen in a small community. This was one of the rare books where you know who's after them almost the whole book through, intentionally, mind you. I found that bit very interesting!
The characters both had intriguing backgrounds which helped to get into the wave lengths of them. I liked Beth, she was self-sufficient, but seemed to have problems when it came to confidence, deep down she still had open wounds which hindered the relationship between her and Hank.
What I liked about Hank was how he couldn't stop chasing Beth even though he at times felt like throwing in the towel. Loved it! Talk about a man on a mission. Seriously, what's not sexy about that? He had the training and the qualification to help Beth if she'd just let him, of which she was plenty pig headed about.
In all a very entertaining book, it had plenty going for it, I suppose I would have loved bit more heat from Beth's side, she seemed to take things a lot more mellow than Hank, but other than that a book well worth the read if you like romantic suspense novels.

I have a friend who, a long time ago, while in high school did (what I thought at the time) was the most daring thing. It was a Saturday evening in the spring. He had a book report due in Monday. He hadn’t read a book. Rather than comb his memory for vestiges of the one book he had read back in the seventh grade, he chose a road less travelled. He made it up. Not just the book report—he made up the entire book.
I could never do that. But sometimes it seems when I am reading the review of a book I’ve read or movie I’ve seen that that’s exactly what the reviewer did—they made it up. They couldn’t have possibly read the same book I read, because there review sounds nothing like the book. That’s my problem with reviews. They’re not necessarily accurate. I find many reviewers adding their own meanings or biases to books and movies.
Last Sunday night I was at the WGA Christmas party. I met two people there who both gave me their review of the movie War Horse. They were husband and wife, so I am assuming they saw the movie together, and yet if you didn’t know better you’d swear they were not talking about the same movie.
As a writer I’d like to know that the people reviewing my work actually completed the work, and if they didn’t finish reading it, I’d like them to say so. No writer enjoys a bad review, but when you read a review of your Martian novel and it sounds like the reviewer is talking about mermaids it can be infuriating.
My novel Boyfriend From Hell has some pretty accurate reviews on both Goodreads and Amazon. I’ve read good things about the novel’s great pacing, as well as not so good things, like the lack of chemistry between the male and female leads. In all the reviews, however, good or bad, I felt the reviewer actually read the book. Thank you.
