REVIEW - DEACON'S TOUCH

"Deacon begins to warm up to Jessica, but that also means his other dormant desires surface, his desire for control in the bedroom, and he knows it would send a good girl like Jessica running the other way - but Jessica has few fantasies of her own and one of them just might include a cowboy tying her to bed."

Excerpt: Pushing boundaries

Jessica really doesn't want to be at her friend's fiancée’s bachelorette party, she's swamped with work ( just like she likes it ) and squeezing this in last minute is giving her a headache. She misses her plane and has to be picked up late by one of the Dumen boys, one of the seriously hot brothers who run Ranch where the bachelorette weekend is taking place.

Deacon, an Ex-Air Force Pararescueman, has a hard time keeping up his walls around Jessica, the girl's reserved and bit snappish, but when he catches her off guard she's warm and kind - and lights up all kind of fires inside him that he hasn't paid attention to since his divorce and injury.

Deacon begins to warm up to Jessica, but that also means his other dormant desires surface, his desire for control in the bedroom, and he knows it would send a good girl like Jessica running the other way - but Jessica has few fantasies of her own and one of them just might include a cowboy tying her to bed.

Deacon's Touch is a keeper, I sure am going to read it again! Nothing was missing, it had it all, romance, emotions, danger and little bit of kink! It started off as a sweet romance city girl meets hot and injured ( both emotionally and physically ) cowboy, they dance around attraction, finally give in, meet danger and then we get on the kinky side of the romance with some light bondage and bossy Dom attitude, yummy! For a novella it wasn't at all too short, and even managed to get me teary eyed at the end - after all you really really want Deke and Jessie to make it.

I loved Jessie and Deke's chemistry, it was real and believable instead of the insta-love ( which works well in paranormal romance mind you ;) ) that makes me cringe at contemporary romance genre. They had that dancing around each other feel where they both wanted more but didn't think their attention would be necessarily returned and keeping emotional distance was the way to go - but like always one kiss changes it all. Bossy Deke was delicious to read, he had the whole ex-special ops way about him and when spiced with a little Dom and whole lot of cowboy he was irresistible!

This book definitely wet my appetite to read more Dumen brother books, getting to know the brothers a little during the novella gave a great sneak peak at things to come, and I was hooked. Callie Croix has a way of writing sexy, determined and yummy ex-soldiers ( like in Touch Me ) and she gets to the details of things without it harming the story. She can write delicious romance and very hot erotic romance with a light bdsm twist. Having read only two novellas by Callie Croix, I think I can still call myself a fan!

I highly recommend this to cowboy lovers who aren't shy around a little light bondage and erotic play. This is so worth reading!

REVIEW - HER COWBOY STUD

"What Trace sees is a gold-digger, he can't fathom why his Uncle left her anything at all in his will - but now she's come to collect month after his uncle's death. Excerpt: Kiss Me, Trace

Macy's come to Houston not only to get what a nice older man decided to leave her in his will but also to meet his nephew Trace. She's had a crush on him since seeing his picture that one shared plane ride with Silas - and now she's got her sexy heels on and she's ready to play a little game of seduce with Trace.

What Trace sees is a gold-digger, he can't fathom why his Uncle left her anything at all in his will - but now she's come to collect month after his uncle's death. The attraction is immediate and he doesn't like it, she's out get money so he has to keep a cool head about it. But when Macy acts truly shocked about what Silas left her he begin to have mixed feelings and having her warm his bed seems more and more like a stellar idea even if she is after money.

Macy's about to get what she wanted, Trace, and she's got a bag full of sexy goodies to try out with him, thanks to her job at marketing and selling adult toys. But when she discovers Trace's view on her she's shot down from her rose colored cloud, reality isn't what fantasies are made of.

Her Cowboy Stud is quick pace, entertaining and oh so definitely sexy read! Not a dull moment in it. If you're looking for a don't-put-me-down cowboy romance then this is it! Of course if you are squeamish about adult toys then look away - this cowboy had a sexy dominating streak in the bedroom, and a girl to match his desires.

Macy and Trace made odd bed fellows at first, a cowboy and adult toy saleswoman, not really a sentence you hear a lot, but they have great chemistry, Trace's mistrust and lust for her, and Macy's naive crush on Trace makes for good and entertaining reading, especially when the facts come out and feathers are ruffle one way and another. One of the most delicious scenes is interrupted by the "truths" coming out and even the reader is left sexually frustrated - now that's good romance writing!

I like the cover, I just wish the girl didn't have obvious double D ( maybe even E )  implants it's distractive and makes Macy look cheap, that's my only qualm about the cover. The blurb was great at drawing the reader in, and Alexander writes great, her characters have emotions that are real and not forced and her playful style in the lighter areas is fun to read.

You'll like this if... you like your cowboys in control, your woman daring and misconception ruining a perfectly sexy/great day ( but knowing it will be all fixed and good later )!

MY ALIYAH - REVIEW & GIVEAWAY

"Tyler had the unfortunate luck of seeing the face of a famous drug lord, never before seen, and now his face is the one with a hit on it. His bosses think the only way to keep his head attached to his body is to hide him away with some chick. Right. But seeing Aliyah, he can’t help but be distracted, determined to get in her pants and charming her to get his way, he blatantly flirts, suggests and uses his best innuendo to get Aliyah to bend to his rules of the game."

The author, Sable Hunter, is giving away one e-copy of My Aliyah to one lucky winner this week!

Genre: Erotic Romantic Suspense (18+ Only)
Series: Texas Heat #2

Barnes & Noble: Buy / $5.99 (Nook)
All Romance Ebooks: Buy / $5.99 (Ebook)
Excerpt: Get your flirt on...

Aliyah has been ordered to keep safe a cocky, arrogant ( not to mention easy on the eyes ) Texas Ranger. Being Mossad she’s got the determination and the ice cold skills to keep any man safe. What she doesn’t have is a luxury of falling for the arrogant, flirting Ranger, but despite it she can’t seem to keep her composure with him glued to her side.

Tyler had the unfortunate luck of seeing the face of a famous drug lord, never before seen, and now his face is the one with a hit on it. His bosses think the only way to keep his head attached to his body is to hide him away with some chick. Right. But seeing Aliyah, he can’t help but be distracted, determined to get in her pants and charming her to get his way, he blatantly flirts, suggests and uses his best innuendo to get Aliyah to bend to his rules of the game.

With drugs lords on their heels there isn’t a calm moment for the two, but danger also breeds a whole different emotions and it won’t be long before something got to give – but what is more dangerous, a drug lord bent on ending your life or losing the one woman who has ever mattered to you?

I’m such a fan on Hunter’s writing! She’s got a nag for emotional, warm and thrilling scene building, her characters are that too but also well written, engaging and sexy in the subtle/gorgeous way.

The plot in My Aliyah was really entertaining, I got sucked in right away and couldn’t stop reading until I was done. And was all warm and fuzzy afterwards.

I loved the suspense with the bombs, knives, guns and delish sexual tension. Adding to the thrill and drama was Tyler’s sexual preferences and his cocky Texas Ranger attitude – not to be out done by the cold and collected Mossad directives that Aliyah followed to the letter. My Aliyah was an excellent Romantic Suspense, with both engaging romance and thrilling suspense with lots of fast pace action, danger and twists that I did not see coming!

I absolutely loved Ty, he was a true alpha male, arrogant, possessive and cocky but with a kind heart and steadfast loyalty. What’s not to love? Aliyah was the perfect match for Tyler, she was better than most men in a lot fields of combat and was used to of scaring capable men away… but Tyler’s blatant admiration and flirting ( though originally to distract her from her guarding duties ) finally got to her and she gave to her feminine side.

It would not fair to not mention the bedroom scenes! Tyler being a Dom gave a very yummy possessive and control side to the love story, with two strong willed characters it made sense for the love scenes to have a little taste of strong will as well. What I did love was that though Ty was a Dom, Aliyah wasn’t a flat out submissive, but enjoyed her one-on-one time with Tyler. I liked it, it was not the norm in a story with a little BDSM twist.

If you love Romantic Suspense then I highly recommend this to you!

Series: Buckin' Bull Riders #1
Amazon: Buy / $6.19 (Kindle) ( EU price, click to see US price )
Barnes & Noble: Buy / $6.22 (Nook)
Excerpt: Chapter 1

Jessica witnesses Connor Raub in a Dallas BDSM club Decadence, shocked to see him there he intrigues her and her new submissive desires - the thing is he's a bull rider and she works for the tour, and surely someone like him wouldn't be interested in someone like her.

Connor hides a secret, the fact that while he participates in the wholesome family values bull riding tour he's a Dom - a secret than can never come out, unless he would want to be kicked off the tour. But then he meets Jessica and her naturally submissive manners get him revved up, until he can't help but seduce her, but when she wants to submit to him he balks, he can't be doing this during the tour.

But Jessica is determined to get her way, and is more than surprised when the feelings they begun to develop for each other surpass lust...

Amazing novel! Perfect balance of riding bulls, attraction and naughty hotel room nights! This novel gives you a hot bull rider with a sexy controlling Dom side, Connor's a certified card carrying member of the male gender, hot as hell, bossy and protective and a true alpha male. He wants to take care of his woman, truly take care of her physically, emotionally and, yup, in the bedroom too - a winning combination! I'd read this book alone just to get to know Connor!

Jessica was no push over, and loved her for it, she was the kinda girl who decided to make things happen on her own and didn't take no crap for it - but then when it got to her bedroom manners she was the opposite, wanting to let go of control and give it Connor. I liked Jessica a lot, she was no ditz, but a cowgirl through and through, and watching her fall for Connor was so exciting.

The BDMS side of this story was mild, and I loved it - I think a little spanking and domination gives the story some of that extra sizzle for the bedroom scenes, but there are lines I don't like seen crossed and this novel didn't. If you've never read BDSM spiced story before then this book won't scare you. Best one I've read so far!

I really enjoyed the plot, I liked the love story woven into the story of domination and submission, bull riding and personal feelings going haywire. I think above all this was a love story first, just the couple in this romance was into bit of playing in the bedroom. I liked how there were obstacles and threat - and I loved how those spiked Connor's possessiveness, and made him realize what his feeling for Jessica were.

I loved the Cover, cocky, naughty and very much a promise of the story to come! Great choice! I love the cocky grin and the leather duster! This novel was great, so worth buying! You won't regret getting this, it's very hard to put down until you are finished!

Niina : Welcome to For The Love of Reading, Cassandra, I’m glad you could make it!

Cassandra Carr : Thanks for having me. I'm excited to be here!

Niina : Let’s get started! Can you tell my readers here 4 fun unknown facts about you so we can break the ice?

Cassandra : Oh wow. Let me think...

1 - From ages 8-13 I rode horses competitively. Then I got dumb and became a teenager and stopped. The people I was routinely beating went on to national competitions, the Olympics, etc.

2 - I have an MBA and have taught college courses in both human resources and marketing.

3 - I worked for a company that spent over a million dollars in one week alone to attend a trade show. I was hired 7 weeks before the show and not allowed to speak with the person formerly in the position because she was suing the company. It was later proven (partially through evidence I uncovered) that she was secretly married to the foreman of the trade show company that assembled and disassembled their booths and they were grossly overcharging the company and then skimming the profits. But even without this, yes, the company spent a million dollars and I had seven weeks to put the whole thing together.

4 - I'm a cancer survivor and was on a bike-a-thon committee for 11 years. During that time the bike-a-thon went from raising $110,000 to over $2 million (not just due to me, but pretty cool nonetheless)

Niina : That's impressive! Tell us little about your novel Impact, what’s it about?

Cassandra : Conner! And, of course, Jessica. Conner is a professional bull rider and a closet Dom. He doesn't want anyone on the bull riding tour to know he's a Dom because the tour tends to run pretty conservative. But then he meets Jessica, who works for the tour, and senses that she's a natural submissive. When she asks him to train her as a submissive, he can't say no. Of course, this all leads to them falling in love. :-)

Niina : Tell us something about your book that we wouldn’t know just by reading the blurb?

Cassandra :  There's an evil force against Conner and Jessica that's not mentioned in the blurb at all. *cue creepy music*

Niina : I was excited to discover that, worked so well into the story! Now, what chapter did you most enjoyed writing and why?

Cassandra : I love all the BDSM stuff, so the first time Jessica submits to Conner was pretty fun to write! I can't remember which chapter that was...

Niina : I loved watching Connor freak out about her being such a natural. ;) What are three words that would describe your hero the best?

Cassandra : Tall, dark, and Dom.

Niina : That would do it. :D What’s the best compliment you’ve received on your writing? And who complimented you?

Cassandra : Oh gosh, I've received a lot of great reviews, but I'd have to say that when my BDSM holiday novella ( yes, you can marry BDSM with the holidays ) Caught won Best BDSM Book 2011 by LoveRomancesCafe it was a huge shock and a great honor.

Niina : Now to more personal questions!  What’s the sexiest article of clothing on a guy?

Cassandra : Boxer briefs

Niina : What’s the biggest turn on in a guy, fictional or real life?

Cassandra : Pertaining to his body, the abs. I'm a total sucker for a six-pack. Pertaining to his mind, personality...probably how focused he is on me. You don't like to think you're the number four priority item for your man, you know?

Niina : Oh so very true... What is your favorite guilty treat?

Cassandra : Pepsi. I'm an addict.

Niina : What does it take to write a really hot love scene?

Cassandra : I don't listen to music when I write. For me it's too distracting. I love my music and I want to bop around and sing along, neither of which helps my productivity. All I really need to get in the mood to write a steamy scene is a block of free time. I know many authors say love/sex scenes are really difficult for them to write. I don't find them particularly difficult, but to write the really hot ones like I do does take a certain level of comfort with sexuality. ;-)

Niina : Can you share with us the 3 closest book to you?

Cassandra : My bookshelves are right next to my desk and I can reach out and touch probably a hundred books. There's also a copy of the Romance Writer's Report, which is the magazine Romance Writers of America puts out monthly, sitting on an end table well within reach.

Niina : Before we finish, here are some Quick Fire Questions:

Night or day?  Night
Pick-up or Mini-van?  Eesh. Pickup
Beer or Wine?  Wine, hands down. I don't drink beer.
Boots or Heels?  Boots
M&Ms: With or Without Peanuts? Without

REVIEW - HIS FOR THE WEEKEND

"Marcus has wanted Cassandra for nearly a year now, he wants more than her body and weekend of amazing sex, and he’s cooked up a plan to get her to fall for him as well. Excerpt: Negotiating the Weekend

Cassandra has gone through a rough childhood which is why she sees it fit to stay away from Marcus DeLuca, her fellow employee who’s been straight forward about wanting her for months now. His gifts, notes and flowers finally bush her over the edge and she storms to his office only to leave it having made pack to give in to their mutual attraction for sixty hours – a weekend.

Marcus has wanted Cassandra for nearly a year now, he wants more than her body and weekend of amazing sex, and he’s cooked up a plan to get her to fall for him as well. Not that he’s giving away the mind blowing sex, no that’s part the plan to get prim and proper Cassandra to unleash her sensuality.

“His For The Weekend” is one hot erotic romance! Talk about letting ones hair down! This story is full of emotions, tension and toys, oh yes toys, and lot of them ( but what do you expect from the R&D man of Fantasy Inc? ). The story is interesting, we meet Cassandra who’s had a really rough childhood where her parents were in to bdsm, the wrong kind, and she was punished as well, so she’s dead scared of falling her mother’s submissive footsteps. The story is mainly about her battle with herself to discover what she likes, and getting rid of some demons lurking in her past.

From Marcus’ point of view this is a love story, he’s fully in love with Cassandra and finally has a way to get her to rid her ice queen cover and reveal to her that she’s a sensual being and that there is nothing wrong with it. He’s motives are seduction, getting to know her and getting her to feel for him as well. But I loved seeing him gentle and inquiring about Cassandra and her past and what frightens her, it was truly sweet.

This is not a bdsm book per say, the bdsm that is in the book are the demons of Cassandra’s past and Marcus’ sexually exploring nature, but there’s none of the could be offensive, spanking, whipping or degrading.

Instead there is a whole lot of pleasure, make that with a capital P! Pleasure! Marcus is a fantastic lover, kind, patient, passionate and alpha male through and through, and with his use of toys like vibrators and feathers he’s quite inventive, and Cassandra the willing test subject. This book is definitely one sizzling hot read – even with the darker undertones, but like all good romances this has a happily-ever-after that makes reading Cassandra’s journey so worth wile. I mean I’m a sucker for happy endings!

If you are looking to read a sizzling hot erotic romance with lots of play, toys and an emotional hook then here you go, look no further!

"In exchange for her father’s life, Amarantha agrees to marry the dreadful Beast and be his wife for seven days. Though the Beast cannot take Amarantha’s virginity unless she begs him to, he can and does take her in every other way. From the moment they are alone together, the Beast relentlessly strips Amarantha of all her resistance.

If Amarantha can resist her cloaked and terrifying husband, she gains his entire fortune and will be allowed to return to her family and a normal life. But the Beast seduces her at every turn, exposing, binding, tormenting, and pleasuring Amarantha until she no longer knows her own deepest desires.

Increasingly desperate to break the curse that chains his humanity, the Beast drives Amarantha past every boundary. But her desire for a normal life may jeopardize the love that will save them both."

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play, BDSM theme and elements, dubious consent.

This sure is one sexy, dark, dominating twist on Beauty and The Beast, trust me this is in no way a Disney version! Paris spins a tale of an innocent women who is married to a man hidden by a cloak who turns out to be quite a serious Dom and he enjoys watching his innocent bride discover what he likes (which comes with a lot of kink), and what she likes.

I have to say at time the Beast's actions become a bit much and you could really see why Amarantha was uncomfortable and straight out scared sometimes. I sure wouldn't have wanted to be in her shoes. But there was another side to him under all the rough play and intense sexual apetite - he'd made mistakes and his Beastly appearence was the punishment for it, and towards the end of their days together you begin to see his desperation for her to accept him. Amarantha was quite timid and scared through most of the book, and she finally got some balls at the end, and good for her, I can't stand it when I character stall in one place throughout the book.

All good stories they provoke a reaction wither frustration, discomfort or arousal or emotions such as fear or love - this story wasn't different, you felt all the above and more. For a story with such a strong BDSM theme there were some surprisingly gentle moments that made the book better, in fact I would have really wanted more gentleness, this was bit too deeply BDSM for me to really enjoy.

That said, I couldn't stop reading the book, there was something there between the couple that you just had to find out, which kept you reading. Paris is a good writer, you can tell that immediately, and I'd like to read more from her, she has a nack for the dark tales! I enjoyed her other novella Feeding The Vampire that she wrote as Jeffe Kennedy.

Excerpt: Chapter 1

Eve wants nothing more than to a be Pastry Chef extraordinaire, and her big chance is here, the Black & Lace Masquerade Ball, catering to the who's who of the culinary world, including the Editor-in-Chief of Sizzle Christian Grier, who's opinion makes all the difference. What Eve doesn't know is that she's already on Christian's good graces, he's her boss, Kris, at her current catering gig at his high end BDSM club Ganache, with them both in masks there she has no idea Kris is Christian Grier and just how much she's gotten under his skin.

Christian has been watching Eve work the Ball all evening, her desserts are heaven on earth but so is she, and he has made up his mind, if she won't respond to his touch at the club, she will here, he'll seduce the little pastry chef and make sure that when the masks come off tonight, she knows exactly who he is and what he wants from her, which is forever.

        “Wine, sir?"
Christian’s body stilled. He jerked his head up and found himself shaken to the core.
His beautiful Belle. He’d waited for her all night, tempted to walk across the room and pull her into his arms when he caught sight of her speaking to Josh. It took every ounce of self-control to contain the beast inside of him not to move in her direction.
“What is wrong with you?” Suzanne reached for another glass from the tray and handed it to him.
He grabbed it and brought it half way to his lips before he realized he wore his damn mask.
He pursed his lips together, lowered his hand and growled under his breath. He could only hope that Eve didn’t recognize him. Or his mask.
But then, why should she? It was a plain black mask. Nothing ornate or pompous like some of the fools strutting around tonight. A mask anyone would wear. Besides, no one from the club knew his full name. He went by Kris at Ganache.
        “Christian.” Suzanne hissed.
He tore his gaze away from Eve’s beautiful eyes.
“Did you hear what I said?”
Christian shook his head. He hadn’t heard a word. He turned back to Eve only to find her back turned as she offered wine to other guests.
Damn but she looked hot. At the club, she normally wore a skimpy corset and tight skirt when she catered to the crowd. Unless it was a theme night, then he would catch her in leather, plastic or costume. With her wig and silver mask, she tried to blend in. But tonight she stood out and it suited her. The black dress hugged her body and caressed her curves. He wanted nothing more than to strip it off, inch by inch.
It was all he could do not to follow her.

Anya Winter has a way about her writing that is very easy to read, the characters are believable and the plot moves forward smoothly making her novellas very easy to read - not to mention fun! I loved that Eve was a chocolatier, the desserts described in the story were orgasmic on their own! The story wasn't just erotica, it was romance as well, it had a fun quick plot without too much angst which gave this story a yummy sizzling fun vibe. Sure there were secrets and tension but it wasn't at any point depressing, so I'll call this a fun feel good story with dashes of delicious tension, hot sex and one yummy dominating hero!

The characters were, like I mentioned before, very real so it was easy to believe this story, the dialogue was completely normal without any hitches or clichés even in the love scenes - which makes me happy, I hate love scenes with corny or unrealistic dialogue. Now to Eve, I liked her, she has a goal and a dream and she worked her butt off to get it. Her little wild side came evident in a flash back scene at Ganache where Kris her boss makes her very happy behind the bar, and her kind side is very much her normal presence which is probably why Christian begins to fall in love with her.

I enjoyed Christian's character as well, he's bossy, dominating ( bun intended ;) he is after all a Dom at his BDSM club ) and has a very sexy aura about him, maybe it's because he's so respectable outside but the readers knows about his bedroom preferences which also gives him a devious and dangerous aura - no wonder Suzanne was interested as well! ;) Yes, quite, quite liked Christian. Especially in the end where he makes it very clear where his priorities lie now.

Niina : Welcome back to For The Love of Reading, Anya, I’m glad you could stop by again!

Anya Winter : You are a doll to have me back on here :)

Niina : Let’s get started! Can you tell my readers here 4 fun unknown facts about you so we can break the ice?

Anya : 4 unknown facts? Hmmm...I'm a chocoholic - oh wait - that's known. I'm a sap when it comes to 'emotional' scenes in commercials. I once travelled to Scotland as a teenager and fell in love. I hid a stash of Hershey Kiss' and I can't find them. I love to do cover art :) There 4 unknown facts :)

Niina : I love emotional scenes in commercials as well. ;) Tell us little about your novella “The Mask”, what’s it about? It’s the second book in the series right?

Anya : Sure is. This is a foodie romance - just to warn you - it's filled with chocolate! Eve Manor is a pastry chef with a plan. She created a signature chocolate dish that was sure to knock the socks off every famous chef and food critic attending the exclusive Black & Lace Masquerade Ball. Imagine her surprise when the Editor-in-Chief of the famous food magazine, Sizzle shows up and not only asks her to dance but challenges her. It's a story about hidden identities ( the Editor-in-Chief has a secret and Eve knows his 'alter ego' ), masked desires and of course...passion.

Niina : I love stories of hidden indentities! So what scene did you most enjoyed writing and why?

Anya : It's a scene between Josh and Christian. Josh literally shoves an eclair into Christian's mouth and demands him to not proclaim Eve a goddess after tasting her creation. I think any scene with Josh is one that will make anyone smile - I know he makes me smile.

Niina : So, why did you pick Erotic Romance genre, with that little taste of BDSM in the masquerade series?

Anya : Writing an erotic romance is just fun. I've read plenty of erotica with no storyline - or rather sex is the story. I tried that ...it didn't work for me. I love romance, but I'm drawn to passion. And the little taste of BDSM...well that's just too tempting to not include. But it's only a little taste.

Niina : What do you think makes a hero sexy?

Anya : Other than his eyes or the quirk in his smile? I like sarcasm that is laced with tenderness, uninhabited passion controlled by gentleness. I like mystery and depth.

Niina : I like the little teasing as well... ;) Now to more personal questions! Who is your current book boyfriend?

Anya : I actually just broke up with my book boyfriend - how sad is that? Can you recommend a replacement maybe? I'm feeling lonely ... lol

Niina : LOL! If you haven’t read Black Dagger Brotherhood… it’s full of them. ;D What is your favorite guilty pleasure?

Anya : Hmmm...a hot bubble bath with a steamy book. There has to be either wine or a white russian and chocolate by my side as well.

Niina : What’s the sexiest article of clothing on a guy?

Anya : A black t-shirt.

Niina : Brings out the shoulders, yum, for some odd reason I love wide shoulders the best about a guy. ;) Now, what does it take to write a really hot love scene?

Anya : I need a drink :) Either a white russian, vodka and coke or wine. Silence. Night time. No distractions. I need to be able to visualize it in my head and having a dog, 3 kids and a hubby running around the house doesn't do it for me ;)

Niina : LOL! I can imagine! What’s the biggest turn on in a guy, fictional or real life?

Anya : His smile. 100%. Knocks me out blind with a killer smile.

Niina : Before we finish, here are some Quick Fire Questions:

Night or day? Night.
Pick-up or Mini-van? No. You. Didn't. Jeep all the way girl!
Beer or Wine? Wine

Drama or Comedy? Drama
Winter or Summer? Summer. However - I live in Northern Canada and it snows in the summer here sometimes.

GUEST BLOG - LIFE THROUGH EROTICA WRITER'S EYES

Living through a Writer’s Eyes

Ever wonder what the world looks like through the eyes of a writer? I can guarantee you one thing the world looks much, much different for a writer. At least from this writer’s eyes it does. How do I know this? Let’s just say I’ve shopped with my normal friends and I’ve shopped with my writers friends…trust me we see things differently.

How many writers out there walk around with a notepad or recorder in their pocket or purse? In the car? Normal people? So, that was about a hundred to zero. The first clue that the writers in the crowd see things in a completely different light than the normal folk. You see, through a writer’s eyes, every single person we come in contact with is a potential character waiting to introduce themselves. Every situation is a potential scene. Cool looking cars, tasty food, off the hook clothing, tattoos, piercings, hair styles—they all have the potential to end up in a book. I seriously doubt normal people notice as much about people, places and things as a writer does. For me the world is a buffet of story ideas.

Now take that idea and apply it to not only a writer, but say a writer who writes erotic romance—or take it a step even further—to BDSM and/or ménage. How much different do you suppose the world looks to those writers even compared to “normal” writers? So different a normal person would burst into flames if they spent a few minutes in my mind.

My life as a writer didn’t start off in that world. My life as a writer started out as a regular, every day, run of the mill, erotic romance writer. I had the solid story lines, the believable characters and the hot sex to top it all off. However, my characters led a pretty vanilla life. Then one day, a new muse set her little foot up on my doorstep and a new era in my writing life began. Research ensued—lots of it in fact. And a strange thing happened. As differently as I viewed the world before, that difference may have increased by ten-fold. For instance, a simple trip to the fabric store one day turned into a BDSM researchers dream. How many normal people do you suppose go along feeling the fabric and knot testing it to make sure their heroine won’t lose circulation in her cute little toes if her hero ties her up with it? How many people might look at rings to hang curtains with and their thoughts wander toward inexpensive and quite cute nipple clamps? How many uses are there for a tracing wheel, hem clips or a ruler? Now you’re getting a view from a naughty writer’s point of view.

Now, let’s leave the fabric store and wander over to, say, a kitchen accessory store….What can we find here that might lend itself to creative license? Hard rubber spatulas…paddle material. Olive oil…nifty lubricant. Cute little popsicle molds…ice play with class. Feather dusters, candles, industrial rolls of saran wrap, and the list goes on. Oh, let’s not forget suction cups...need I say more? Wonder what’s over at the hardware store…

Of course this store lends itself to a bondage lover’s dream come true. Eye bolts, chains, outdoor plant hooks to be disguised as a place to hang someone’s arms over their head. Fence posts to create a nifty outdoor place to spread eagle someone for a little flogging. And rope of all sorts, some of which is even neat colors—of course you need to keep in mind research is necessary to know what gauges are best and which one’s won’t leave burn marks. Oh and look over in the gardening section at all the cool cane poles that normal folk associate with staking up their tomatoes. Guess what else they’re good for. Yes, a good wallop to someone’s tender back side. And speaking of tender backsides, just what do you suppose a good leather and horse supply store mind give me in terms of ideas. Crops, and reigns, and chaps—oh my!

See how much differently the world looks through the eyes of someone like me? If I can find all that in normal stores what do you suppose happens when I go to a reputable naughty store…

And speaking of naughty, how about a  peek at the third book in my Identity Series, Assumed Identity… Innocent childhood games of dress-up and pretend…

"Julie Stevens is as straight as they come. Or so she tries to convince herself. But it isn’t easy believing that little white lie when she has the two most sexually eccentric best friends on the planet. One is a bi-sexual Domme who believes if it looks fun, try it. The other is a gay man in the role of slave to his very sexy Master whom Julie often wishes wasn’t gay. Dante’s commanding presence makes her want to do things that set her on fire with need and embarrassment. Given her boring vanilla life, how exactly does she fit into their world? Would they like to have a shinier third wheel?

Are a completely different animal for grownups…

After one wild evening and a bit too much liquid encouragement, Julie discovers a side of herself she’s always tried to ignore. The realization she’s a sub not only scares her, it excites her and she yearns for more. But the process of finding the right man to teach her becomes a real issue, until Mason comes along. He’s everything Julie imagines a Dom should be. Armed with her masque and Renaissance costume, Julie is thrown for a loop when the handsome Master draws more willingness out of her than she ever thought possible. Is it possible she’s more than a submissive? And will the assumptions he’s made about her identity end up tearing them apart?"

“Are you wet, angel?” Mason asked, running one hand down the middle of her back. Her intake of breath told him she was and that she didn’t want to admit it. “Answer me. Now.”

“Yes,” she whispered over a whimper.

Covering her body with his, Mason leaned over her and gently took her by her hair. “Tell me what you need, angel.”

Silence. Sniffling. Muffled moans.

“Julie. Tell. Me. What. You. Need.”

“Sex.” Her voice was barely audible.

“No. That’s what you think I want. I know what I want. You’re to free your mind of thoughts concerning what you think I want.” Mason pushed back up and began moving one hand over her back in a soothing pattern. “Tell me what you need.”

“I need…I…Don’t make me…”

“Say it.”

“I need to come,” she whined.

“Good girl,” he praised. “Now tell me what you want.”

“I don’t understand…”

“Yes, you do. Tell me,” he growled.

“I want you to make me come,” she gushed, arching her back into his constant touch.

“I’m going to do just that, angel,” he spoke harshly, leaning back over her and taking a handful of hair, raising her head enough he could nip her earlobe. “Tell me you understand.”

“I understand.”

“When’s the last time you had an orgasm?” She started to answer and he cut her off. “With a man?”

“I can’t remember.”

“Shame on them,” Mason told her.

He stood and while keeping one hand on her lower back letting her know he was still present, he unbuttoned his jeans then unzipped them slowly, adding to her agony by being forced to listen to the click of each tine popping open. Scooting his pants down his legs along with his boxers, he stepped out of them and when his hand left her so he could sheath himself, Julie grunted in frustration.

“Get on your back on the bed,” he said as he finished rolling the condom down. She needed the visual contact even if she couldn’t see anything but shadows and reflections.

She hesitated, looked behind her as if trying to determine if he was baiting her or not, then turned and backed across the mattress before lying down with her legs spread and her arms at her sides, her eyes tightly squeezed shut. So clinical, as if she expected to be used as a vessel. Who the hell had she been with before and what the hell had they done to her to make her think sex was about lying like a dead fish while the man got what he wanted? Then he remembered what she’d been like at the party, after he’d caught her in the chase.

She was carefree and happy, not at all a dead fish beneath him. As he’d lain on her in the garden, she was vital and eager. Mason believed she’d have done anything he asked of her she was so pliable…She’d been Hayden. Not Julie. She’d not just been dressed for the party. She was literally hiding behind her masque.

A bit of anger and sorrow wound around Mason’s state of arousal and squeezed him as he realized she had to assume an identity to feel. Then he was almost ashamed at the bit of happiness that crept in at the realization that she was not only fresh and new to his world but actually, she was like putty in his hands. She was ready to be molded into the person she was perfectly capable of being. He could be the one to show Julie how good it really could be, not just physically, but emotionally as well. For tonight though, she needed a safe haven, a place where she could turn her fears into dancing.
